Good review and unlike most negative reviews from Edinburgh based press. Compared to SECC in december bad were excellent as usual but crowd were not as loud as glasgow gig. Might have something to do with price of tickets and no alcohol.

I think if it were to be commissioned for a series, they would need something particularly different and shall we say fresh about the Congratulation sketch. However I disagree with the German hospital, I felt it was rather amusing and original and brought back memories of Chanel 9 from The Fast Show. This being said, I don’t think Channel 4/E4 showed a lot of faith in it from the start, it was clearly low budget so I’d be surprised if they did commission a full series of it. Perhaps it’s a matter of personal opinion, there were a lot of sketches in the initial half an hour which were an acquired taste, which is probably reason enough not to give it a full series due to the fact that some bits just were a bit too surreal. Little Britain though is a good example of a series that started much the same and went on to become a big success.

I think it was after ‘Congratulation’ that I gave up. I couldn’t figure out what was funny about that except that it was ‘surreal’ and they had silly accents. Those two things alone just aren’t enough.

I actually quite liked the prize-giving one, the awkwardness was realistic enough to be amusing, and it was quite well observed. The German hospital one was all wasted potential, and everything else was pretty forgetable.

Part of me kinda liked the format but I guess I’m just beginning to tire of everything on TV being a sob story nowadays.
One day I’m gonna have a fit or something from the fade-to-black dramatic editing on Cowell shows.

I actually properly loved it!
Perfect mix of tension and the sob-stories were pretty good aswell tbh.
Simon Cowell knows how to make a TV show!
