Do you have a passion for writing, or would you simply like to get yourself heard? Here at SCENE we offer a range of positions for both the online and print versions to sink your teeth into.

As a writer, you will have access to our press information from major television channels, film organisations and record labels in order to help you construct your articles. Whilst we accept editorials and opinionated, you may sometimes have to present the information in a factual and objective style. As we expand, you may have to opportunity to attend film previews of which we would fund.

Desirable Qualities:

• A keen eye for stories
• An interest in English, Journalism or Media

Editor

Are you able to manage a team of writers, push for deadlines and give your team constructive comments to aid their improvement as a writer? Our team of editors adapt the articles to fit the style of the magazine, an important role in which eventually decides the final piece, released to the public.

As an editor, you would be required to manage and encourage a dedicated team of writers into producing quality articles and stories that are fit for release on the website and into the magazine. The editors must be firm and confident, enabling them to advise writers and assisting their improvement. Editors are vital in the development of the website and will help us in moving forward and towards bigger things.

Desirable Qualities:

• Strong leadership skills
• A clear, confident style of writing
• Ability to advise and aid improvements
• Exceptional time management skills

Designer

Are you creative with interests in graphic design, content management, typography or magazine laying out? Our design team are vital in creating and maintaining the style and design throughout both the website and magazine, designing icons, banners and article graphics, the designers are responsible for the visual aspects of SCENE Magazine.

As a designer, you would be responsible for the maintenance of SCENE’s house style throughout both the magazine, website, or both – depending on the areas in which you’re skilled. We’re looking for fresh ideas to create a contemporary feel for the publication. We will provide you with templates, colour schemes, images and designs as a base for your productions. We are also able to offer basic Photoshop and InDesign training to our design team.

Desirable Qualities:

• Skilled in Adobe Photoshop (CS3+)
• Skilled in Adobe InDesign (CS3+)
• A creative flair
• Fresh, innovative and intuitive design ideas
